HSH.com Poll: Overwhelming Support for Another Extension of the Home Buyer Tax Credit
Pompton Plains, NJ (PRWEB) April 12, 2010 -- An recent poll on HSH.com's daily mortgage news blog reveals that potential home buyers overwhelmingly support a second extension of the home buyer tax credit.
While lawmakers have yet to make a decision on whether to extend the federal home buyer tax credit for a second time, HSH.com visitors have spoken loud and clear: 92 percent say they're depending on another extension of the home buyer tax credit to help them get the homes they want and need.
Six percent of poll respondents thought it was time for the home buyer tax credit to end, and only 2 percent expressed indifference to the prospect of an extension. Full analysis of the poll can be found on the HSH.com blog post, Poll Results: Extend the Home Buyer Tax Credit Again! (http://blog.hsh.com/index.php/2010/04/poll-results-extend-the-homebuyer-tax-credit-again/)
"This poll obviously touched a nerve with our readers, because it is by far the most popular poll we've ever run," said Tim Manni, author of HSH.com's daily blog. "The question remains, are lawmakers listening?"
With the tax credit slated for expiration at the end of April 2010--contracts must be signed by April 30, and borrowers must close their deals by June 30--the approaching deadline seems to be increasing home buying activity.
Pending home sales rose 8.2 percent in February (http://blog.hsh.com/index.php/2010/04/are-febs-numbers-enough-to-extend-the-homebuyer-tax-credit/), according the National Association of Realtors (NAR), "potentially signaling a second surge of home sales in response to the home buyer tax credit." As recently as last month (http://blog.hsh.com/index.php/2010/03/has-the-homebuyer-tax-credit-been-a-success-in-2010/), NAR's chief economist was concerned that the surge in home sales just prior to the original expiration of the tax credit would not be repeated this time around. That beneficial bounce in sales was one of the reasons the tax credit was extended the first time.
HSH.com plans to keep this poll up and running until the expiry or renewal of the home buyer tax credit.

Annual Credit Report and Free Annual Credit Report
Getting an annual credit report review has been the advice of many financial managers as they guided their customers to be aware of all information on credit reports. Would the idea of a free annual credit report be good news? Consumers are thrilled with the new federal mandate that demands the three major national credit bureaus offer a free annual credit report to anyone requesting copies of their personal credit reports.
5 Ways To Raise Credit Score
It's not as hard as you think to raise credit score. It's a well known fact that lenders will give people with higher credit scores lower interest rates on mortgages, car loans and credit cards.
Using Your Credit Report: Why You Should Check The Information
Banks, credit card companies, mortgage lenders and just about every financial institution uses credit scoring to determine your suitability for loans or finance. Unfortunately, many people don't even think about using your credit report to check your score before applying for a loan or credit card, and you could be in for a nasty shock! Being turned down for credit can often come as a surprise for unsuspecting consumers, so using your credit report in advance is essential to check that all the facts are correct and relevant. It is important that you obtain your credit report from a reputable credit scoring company, as there are an increasing number of unscrupulous websites claiming to hold this information.
Credit Score – for Scoring the Right Loan
Somebody once said, "There is always a way of knowing your limitations and going beyond it." It is fundamentally true with respect of credit score.
Credit Scoring: What You Dont Know Can Hurt You
You've probably heard the term credit scoring. You may have some idea that your credit score can have an effect on your life.
Removing Negative Marks from Your Annual Credit Report
Your credit report is compiled by the three credit bureaus, Experian, Transunion and Equifax, in order to keep a running history about your spending and credit. These bureaus are licensed and approved by the government and are essentially the gate keepers of our credit history. However, the major issue with this system is that the majority of people don't know about dings on their credit reports until it comes time for them to make a purchase requiring a line of credit (ie: a home mortgage, a car loan, etc). Furthermore, most people don't realize that there are steps that can be taken to repair and improve your credit report and restore your credit history.
How to go from a Good Credit Score to an Excellent Credit Score
The individuals that have a good credit score get a favorable rate on their loans. For those that have an excellent credit score, they will get the best interest rates.
